The Dietetic Department provides a comprehensive service to patients in this catchment area. Specialties include Critical Care, Surgery, Gastroenterology, Care of the Older Person, Stroke, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Respiratory, Cardiology and Diabetes.

The Dietetic Department has strong links with both Trinity College Dublin, TUD and UCD providing student placements for undergraduate and post graduate programmes.

Professional reporting relationship for clinical governance and clinical supervision will be to the Head of Discipline through the professional line management structure.

Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.

a) Candidates for appointment must:

• *Must be a 2024 Graduate or final year Student (qualifying no later than 31^st December 2024)

• Hold a Dietetics qualification recognised by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.

                                                    AND

• Be registered on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU.

                                                    AND

• Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

(b) Annual registration

• On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Dietitians Register maintained by the Dietitians Registration Board at CORU

                                                   AND

• Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

* 2024 undergraduate students who are due to qualify no later than 31^st December 2024 are eligible to apply.  These applicants if successful at interview will be recorded as Dormant. This means that they will remain on the panel but will not be offered any posts until they inform the Connolly Hospital HR Dept. in writing that they are in receipt of their final qualification (with recognition of this qualification from CORU where applicable).
